2424 Norwood Street Lenoir, NC 28645 Tel. 828-726-8801 [email protected] www.nonwovenconverter.com Headquartered in Lenoir, NC, nonwovens converter NuTex Concepts began operations in 2001. At the time, the company’s founders felt there was a void in the market due to acquisitions and consolidation of several converting companies serving the industrial nonwovens market. Today, NuTex Concepts offers custom roll slitting from widths of 1” to 200”, roll perforating in both cross and machine direction, rectangle panel cutting and CAD pattern cutting. It focuses on converting polypropylene spunbond, polypropylene needlepunch and woven textiles used in industrial applications. “From start up to now we have continually invested in converting equipment to expand both our capacity and converting capabilities,” says Emily Roberts of NuTex Concepts. “We have several new projects in the works now that we are very excited to have come online in 2021.” Until these projects are commercial, the company is keeping the exact details confidential. NuTex Concepts’ key markets are mattress, furniture, automotives and packaging. NuTex is currently seeing increased demand within the home markets, like furniture and bedding, as people are staying home more, while at the same time the supply of nonwovens has tightened due to their use in Covid applications, according to Roberts. “It is no secret that Covid-19 has greatly affected the nonwoven supply chain given their use in almost all PPE products worldwide,” she says. “We have had to be very flexible and work even closer with our suppliers and customers to make sure that we have the materials needed to keep our customers up and running. This has included qualifying new suppliers and finding alternative products that would work in specific industrial applications.” NuTex Concepts has been able to react quickly to meet its customers’ changing needs. “Communicating and working closely with customers on an ongoing basis has been key to our success,” Roberts says. “We also believe the processes that we have in place as an ISO 9001:2015 registered company helps NuTex Concepts to deliver a consistent quality product which is sometimes overlooked in the industrial space.” The high-speed nature of nonwoven fabric production creates an opportunity for converters to add value within the supply chain, she adds. “Innovations in both nonwoven fabrics and converting technologies continue to help expand the market.”
